Rugtolia began as the story of two lifelong friends, reunited after years apart. Growing up in the vibrant, history-filled streets of Istanbul’s old peninsula, we shared a deep connection to the city’s rich cultural heritage. Life took us in different directions, but fate brought us back together on the West Coast of the United States, inspired by a shared love for traditional rug artistry.

One of us brought years of experience in the offline rug trade, while the other nurtured a lifelong passion for collecting unique, handcrafted rugs. Together, we found a shared purpose: to preserve the timeless art of rug weaving and share its beauty with homes across the globe.
